How much of a part to play will the mysterious Rivet have? Well, we won’t know until June, but from what I’ve seen, I hope it’s a large one as the performance is charming, her animation is fantastic and she makes a great new edition to a brilliant cast. While the visuals and the inter-dimensional travel are the main attractions, don’t count out Ratchet and Clank’s excellent shooting which has remained fun for almost two decades. The character Rivet belongs to the Ratchet & Clank IP, property of Insomniac Games and therefore cannot be used for any commercial purpose. It’s not long until we get our hands on the full game, but considering what they’ve shown so far, it’s difficult to imagine Insomniac delivering anything less than an absolutely essential PS5 title. Another was a powerful beam that tore directly through enemies and showed off the incredible practical and lighting effects that the game is so filled with.

One weapon saw Rivet shoot tiny burrowing drill heads at her foes, causing chaos on the battlefield. There are typically more unique and ridiculous guns in one Ratchet game than most franchises put together, and Rift Apart looks to be no different.
